December 27 - Evening

"I was given a reed like a measuring rod and was told, 'Go and measure the temple of God and the altar, and count the worshipers there. But exclude the outer court; do not measure it, because it has been given to the Gentiles. They will trample on the holy city for 42 months. And I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth'... ...The seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, which said: 'The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he will reign for ever and ever.' ”
- Revelation 11:1-3

The Two Witnesses and the Seventh Trumpet

Chapter eleven introduces two men who will oppose ungodliness and call forth many signs and wonders including plagues, famine and miracles. They will prophecy for the final 1,260 days (42 months, or three and a half years) of the tribulation (11:2, 3). When the seventh trumpet sounds, loud voices from heaven say, "The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ." The temple in heaven is opened and the Ark of the Covenant is seen.
Hetoimasia (Gr) - Preparation (Eng) - hetoimasia is a Greek word that appears only once in the Greek New Testament. Hetoimasia is "the act of preparing" and, also, it describes "the condition of a person that is prepared." Hetoimasia is only found in Ephesians 6:15:
"and with your feet fitted with the readiness (hetoimasia) that comes from the gospel of peace."
Do I understand that I must share the truth with the world if I am going to be truthful and not deceitful?
To refrain from sharing the biblical revelation with the world is to be deceitful.
It is not kind to avoid sharing the truth if it has the power to save lives.
I will be a truthful witness even if others would prefer a false witness who speaks to them deceitfully.

Someone to Quote

"When I become bitter or unforgiving toward others, I’m assuming that the sins of others are more serious than my sins against God."
- C.J. Mahaney

Something to Ponder

Logically the cause of a thing must both exist before the thing is caused and be of equal or higher complexity. So, whatever caused (created) the complex human being must both pre-exist and be equal to or greater than humans in every area of the human expression and experience.

Here’s a Fact

Another boundary stone with inscriptions in Greek and Hebrew was found at Gezer. This is the thirteenth boundary stone found at Gezer.
(Details 1, 2, 3 Images 1, 2.)

Proverb

"A truthful witness saves lives, but a false witness is deceitful."
- Provebs 14:25

Coach’s Corner

Be as forgiving of others as you are of yourself. Be as patient with others as God is with you.

Revelation 14
New International Version (NIV)
The Lamb and the 144,000
14 Then I looked, and there before me was the Lamb, standing on Mount Zion, and with him 144,000 who had his name and his Father’s name written on their foreheads. And I heard a sound from heaven like the roar of rushing waters and like a loud peal of thunder. The sound I heard was like that of harpists playing their harps. And they sang a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and the elders. No one could learn the song except the 144,000 who had been redeemed from the earth. These are those who did not defile themselves with women, for they remained virgins. They follow the Lamb wherever he goes. They were purchased from among mankind and offered as firstfruits to God and the Lamb. No lie was found in their mouths; they are blameless.
The Three Angels
Then I saw another angel flying in midair, and he had the eternal gospel to proclaim to those who live on the earth—to every nation, tribe, language and people. He said in a loud voice, “Fear God and give him glory, because the hour of his judgment has come. Worship him who made the heavens, the earth, the sea and the springs of water.”
A second angel followed and said, “‘Fallen! Fallen is Babylon the Great,’ which made all the nations drink the maddening wine of her adulteries.”
A third angel followed them and said in a loud voice: “If anyone worships the beast and its image and receives its mark on their forehead or on their hand, 10 they, too, will drink the wine of God’s fury, which has been poured full strength into the cup of his wrath. They will be tormented with burning sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and of the Lamb. 11 And the smoke of their torment will rise for ever and ever. There will be no rest day or night for those who worship the beast and its image, or for anyone who receives the mark of its name.” 12 This calls for patient endurance on the part of the people of God who keep his commands and remain faithful to Jesus.
13 Then I heard a voice from heaven say, “Write this: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.”
“Yes,” says the Spirit, “they will rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow them.”
Harvesting the Earth and Trampling the Winepress
14 I looked, and there before me was a white cloud, and seated on the cloud was one like a son of man with a crown of gold on his head and a sharp sickle in his hand. 15 Then another angel came out of the temple and called in a loud voice to him who was sitting on the cloud, “Take your sickle and reap, because the time to reap has come, for the harvest of the earth is ripe.” 16 So he who was seated on the cloud swung his sickle over the earth, and the earth was harvested.
17 Another angel came out of the temple in heaven, and he too had a sharp sickle. 18 Still another angel, who had charge of the fire, came from the altar and called in a loud voice to him who had the sharp sickle, “Take your sharp sickle and gather the clusters of grapes from the earth’s vine, because its grapes are ripe.” 19 The angel swung his sickle on the earth, gathered its grapes and threw them into the great winepress of God’s wrath. 20 They were trampled in the winepress outside the city, and blood flowed out of the press, rising as high as the horses’ bridles for a distance of 1,600 stadia.
3 John 1
New International Version (NIV)
The elder,
To my dear friend Gaius, whom I love in the truth.
Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well. It gave me great joy when some believers came and testified about your faithfulness to the truth, telling how you continue to walk in it. I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.
Dear friend, you are faithful in what you are doing for the brothers and sisters, even though they are strangers to you. They have told the church about your love. Please send them on their way in a manner that honors God. It was for the sake of the Name that they went out, receiving no help from the pagans. We ought therefore to show hospitality to such people so that we may work together for the truth.
I wrote to the church, but Diotrephes, who loves to be first, will not welcome us. 10 So when I come, I will call attention to what he is doing, spreading malicious nonsense about us. Not satisfied with that, he even refuses to welcome other believers. He also stops those who want to do so and puts them out of the church.
11 Dear friend, do not imitate what is evil but what is good. Anyone who does what is good is from God. Anyone who does what is evil has not seen God. 12 Demetrius is well spoken of by everyone—and even by the truth itself. We also speak well of him, and you know that our testimony is true.
13 I have much to write you, but I do not want to do so with pen and ink. 14 I hope to see you soon, and we will talk face to face.
Peace to you. The friends here send their greetings. Greet the friends there by name.
